RAGGED GLORY (1990) was a non-stop celebration for the music Neil Young & Crazy Horse are still creating at full force, and was recorded at Young's Broken Arrow Ranch in Northern California. The 10 song original album is expanded for this re-issue with 4 rare tracks. "Interstate" and "Don't Spook The Horse" were both b-sides to singles. "Box Car" and the 12 minute "Born To Run" were both previously unreleased versions prior to release in the ORS 5 box. The 4 additional songs have resulted with the album expanded to 3 LPss. The album was remastered from the original analogue tapes.

Neil Young continues his Official Release Series (ORS) with the next installment of four classic titles from the 1990s. ORS Vol 6: Discs 26, 27, 28 & 29 collects HARVEST MOON, UNPLUGGED, SLEEPS WITH ANGELS and MIRROR BALL in the ongoing reissue series. <br/><br/>Each disc in the limited edition, numbered box sets will contain 4 albums with the original, historically accurate artwork and will be reissued on double vinyl LPs, while the CD box contains single CD sets per title. MIRROR BALL is an analog recording and the album has been remastered from the original analog masters by John Hanlon and Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Additionally, four of the tracks have been remixed by John Hanlon and Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. ("I'm The Ocean", "Big Green Country", "Truth Be Known", "Throw Your Hatred Down"<br/> <br/>HARVEST MOON (ORS Disc 26), originally released in 1992, helped open a new decade of Young's music with what would become instant new classics like the title track "Harvest Moon," "From Hank to Hendrix," and "One of These Days." It included originals written in the 1980s as well as brand new songs, which quickly became fan favorites and one of the most beloved albums in Young's recorded output. <br/> <br/>UNPLUGGED (ORS Disc 27), originally released in 1993, was first recorded for an MTV Unplugged concert, along with additional live recordings. Young thoughtfully assembled a group of musicians he had recorded with over the years for this special aggregation that quickly became a collector's item as tapes were first shared from the show among his fans. The official live album is considered an acoustic one-of-a-kind release from Young's 90's cannon. <br/> <br/>SLEEPS WITH ANGELS (ORS Disc 28), originally released in 1994, is an album that wrote its own legend when released. Including the 14-minute song "Change Your Mind" and "Unknown Legend," it had a distinctiveness with Crazy Horse that Young achieved by keeping the sessions as spontaneous and immediate as possible allowing the tracks to breathe and come to life in real time. SLEEPS WITH ANGELS was the last album to be produced by Neil's long-time collaborator David Briggs, who passed away in 1995 at age 51, which also brings a special meaning to these recordings. <br/> <br/>MIRROR BALL (ORS Disc 29), is a double-album originally released in 1995 and recorded with Pearl Jam. Considering the Seattle band was one of the prime movers of rock bands in the 1990s, it was an event immediately upon its release, and found a rabid, younger audience and inspired long-time fans alike with its inherent high energy. Songs like "I Am The Ocean," "Throw Your Hatred Down" helped impact so much of the second half of the 1990s. <br/> <br/>The OFFICIAL RELEASE SERIES VOLUME 6 - DISCS 26, 27, 28 & 29 (ORS Vol 6) captures a large visceral part of the era, when Young was continuing his exploration of music with an unrelenting edge, in ways that he hadn't really done before. These four releases took him towards a new century, and anticipated some of the musical places he would soon explore. The songs also capture some of the massive changes that the 2000s would bring, and ways that music would take on challenges that are still very much being met.

Never Before Released Set Captures Young And Crazy Horse's Electrifying 1990 Show In Santa Cruz, California And Includes Live Versions of Songs from Ragged Glory.

The fourth installment in Neil Young's Official Release Series (ORS): a box set that includes his classic '80s records Hawks & Doves, Reoacotor, and This Note's for You, as well as his Eldorado EP, previously released only in Japan and Australia. <br/><br/>The ORS Vol 4 collects an eclectic set of decade-spanning sounds. Hawks & Doves (1980) revisits his folk roots and explores some of his most country-leaning offerings; the blistering Reoacotor (1981) showcases a stomping set of heavy, overdriven rock with Crazy Horse; and This Note's for You (1988) casts Young as a big band leader, belting out intricately arranged blues. The Eldorado EP (1989) is full of feral distortion and earthy crunch featuring Young backed by The Restless (Chad Cromwell and Rick Rosas). It includes two thundering tracks - "Cocaine Eyes" and "Heavy Love"- not available on any other album.

Neil Young's OFFICIAL RELEASE SERIES VOLUME 5 is a stunning collection of four albums that begins with the exciting renaissance that came with the release of FREEDOM in 1989, and continues on the unequaled exploration of collections RAGGED GLORY (1990), WELD (1991) and ARC (1991). In many ways, it is a musical travelogue of how Young saw the future and opened up creative worlds for the use of sound and originality which had not been used before. <br/><br/>Like all the reissues in this series, the albums are remastered from the best source available -original analog tape in the case of Ragged Glory. The CD of Ragged Glory has also been remastered. <br/><br/>The box set are numbered.

As Neil Young hears and sees it.<br/><br/>The music included on CHROME DREAMS is the debut release of the legendary 1977 "Lost" album of 12 classic Neil Young songs, including four originals. The 1974-1976 studio recordings include two previously unreleased versions;<br/><br/>Four tracks never before released on vinyl and manufactured as a 3-sided double album with an etching on side 4.<br/><br/>The 12 songs on CHROME DREAMS may have existed in other forms at other times, and that is part of the creative process. Many of these are the originals. The summer 2023 release as it is coming to life now is exactly how Young perceived it and has a sense of monumentality about it that conveys a place in history. Songs like "Pocahontas," "Like a Hurricane," "Powderfinger," "Homegrown," "Stringman," and "Look Out for My Love" join six other tracks to finally present CHROME DREAMS as a guide into the world of a musician who leads the way into the future, never second-guessing what could have been. <br/><br/>Some of the historical lineage of the songs on CHROME DREAMS today include:<br/>"Powderfinger" is the early/first solo version, the original.<br/>"Pocahontas" is the same version that first appeared on RUST NEVER SLEEPS, but without the overdubs.<br/>"Sedan Delivery" and "Hold Back the Tears" are originals with lyrics that were not included in later released versions. Both are very different versions than previously released.<br/>"Stringman," is another original performance, included on the ODEON/BUDOKAN disc in ARCHIVES VOL. II; prior to that the song had only appeared on Young's UNPLUGGED album in a later version, not the original.
