In 'Scary Movie' (2000) a group of teenagers are stalked by a masked killer who wants them dead because of their involvement in a car accident that happened last Halloween. The kids are also being stalked by a television news reporter determined to get the story. One by one, the young friends are dispatched in a grisly and ridiculous fashion. 'Scary Movie 2' (2001) follows what happens when the students from the first film are hired to investigate a series of strange occurrences in an old mansion named Hell House. Cindy (Anna Faris), Ray (Shawn Wayans), Shorty (Marlon Wayans), and Brenda (Regina Hall) all turn up at the appointed hour, ready to take on all the ghosts and spooks the house has to offer. But when their professor is killed, the students find themselves trapped in the house with phantoms far more bizarre than any they had imagined. Finally, in 'Scary Movie 3' (2003), now out of college, Cindy has become a TV news reporter out to find a hard-hitting news story. Set in Middle Earth 60 years before events in 'The Lord of the Rings', 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' (2012) follows the adventures of hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who, at the instigation of the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen), suddenly finds himself co-opted into joining a company of 13 Dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) to help reclaim the dwarves' lost kingdom of the Lonely Mountain from the clutches of a dragon. After setting out on their quest from the safety of Bag End, the band of travellers soon find themselves pitted against a range of strange and fearsome opponents, in addition to a small, slimy creature known simply as Gollum (Andy Serkis). In 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' (2013), while Gandalf heads south on his own, Bilbo, Thorin and the dwarves enter the treacherous Mirkwood Forest on their way to the mountain. When they reach Lake-town Bilbo has to perform the role he was assigned at the start of the quest - to find a secret door that will lead him to the lair of Smaug the dragon (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch). In the final instalment, 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' (2014), Bilbo, Thorin and the other dwarves have unintentionally released Smaug from the Lonely Mountain and endangered the residents of Lake-town. Bilbo has to make a difficult decision when Thorin puts his desire to find the royal jewel Arkenstone before his loyalty to his friends. Meanwhile, Gandalf discovers that the evil Sauron has returned, commanding a horde of Orcs to attack the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo and his friends must fight for their survival as five armies meet in battle. In 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' (2001) Frodo (Elijah Wood) is a hobbit living in the Shire, a quiet, peaceful part of Middle Earth. When it turns out that his elderly relative Bilbo (Ian Holm) is harbouring the ultimate Ring of Power and the evil Nazgul riders of Sauron are coming to find it, Frodo is entrusted by wizard Gandalf to deliver the Ring out of the Shire without it falling into their hands. Frodo leaves the Shire aided by his cousins Merry (Dominic Monaghan), Pippin (Billy Boyd) and trusty friend Sam Gamgee (Sean Astin), but they soon realise that the agents of Mordor are everywhere and that their trip is far from over. Once they reach the Elvish realm of Rivendell the hobbits form part of the anti-Sauron fellowship, which includes Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Boromir (Sean Bean), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Gandalf. Together they must battle across Middle Earth to destroy the Ring by casting it into Mount Doom, the fiery chasm in the centre of Mordor. In 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' (2002) the Fellowship of the Ring has now divided and Sam and Frodo are lost in the hills of Emyn Muil. They are also being followed by Gollum, a creature who promises to help them travel to Mordor. Meanwhile Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli search for the hobbits Merry and Pippin in the Kingdom of Rohan, which is currently being attacked by Saruman's orc armies. Gandalf returns as Gandalf the White to remind Aragorn of his destiny to unite the people of Rohan with Gondor. Whilst the Fellowship is not travelling together they must unite against the powerful forces coming from the Two Towers: Orthanc Tower in Isengard where Saruman has bred a deadly army of 10,000, and Sauron's fortress at Barad-dûr. Finally, in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' (2003), Gandalf manages to rally Gondor's fallen army with the help of King Theoden of Rohan (Bernard Hill) for the biggest battle in the history of Middle Earth. Meanwhile, Aragorn finally faces up to his noble responsibilities. During the filming of a big-budget Vietnam epic, the self-absorbed stars signed up to the project behave unreasonably, resulting in a four million dollar explosion going off with no cameras shooting - and rendering the whole project unviable before it has even begun. The director of the film, Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan), decides to leave the spoiled actors in the middle of the jungle - and, in an attempt to salvage some footage from the wreckage of the doomed project, installs hidden cameras to follow their escape. The actors are left with only a map and a scene listing to guide them to the helicopter waiting at the end of the jungle. Along the way they encounter a series of obstacles including land mines and an international heroin-dealing ring. In 'Scream' (1996) a psychotic killer with a love of horror movies murders teenager Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) in the small American town of Woodsboro. The costumed killer then begins terrorising Casey's classmate, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier. When Sidney encounters the stalker and escapes, her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is arrested. However, the phone calls and killings continue. The sequel, 'Scream 2' (1997), takes place a year on from the events of the first film when survivors Sidney and Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) are now students at the same college. A movie based on the Woodsboro murders, 'Stab', sparks a series of copycat killings, and soon the nightmare is beginning all over again. While Sidney wonders who she can really trust, Randy teams up with former police deputy Dewey (David Arquette), still recovering from the effects of his stabbing the first time round, to work out the rules of a real-life horror sequel. One thing's for sure: the body count has to be higher. Also back on the scene are reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), who has successfully published her own account of the original killings - sacrificing her romance with Dewey in the process - and Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber), the man Sidney had wrongfully imprisoned for her mother's murder. Finally, in 'Scream 3' (2000) talk show host Cotton Weary is murdered by a masked figure, generating plenty of publicity for the upcoming release of 'Stab 3 - Return to Woodsboro', the third in a series of films based around the real-life events. When two of the film's cast are also murdered production is called to a halt, and the three remaining Woodsboro survivors - recluse Sidney Prescott, television reporter Gale Weathers and former police deputy Dewey - join forces to find the killer.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set</i>
