In 'Tremors' (1990) handymen Val McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) are preparing to leave the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada when their departure is halted by strange rumblings beneath the earth. When seismology student Rhonda LeBeck (Finn Carter) discovers that the tremors are being caused by giant underground monsters, the trio soon find themselves caught in a fierce battle for survival. In 'Tremors 2: Aftershocks' (1995), when workers at a Mexican oil refinery find an infestation of Graboids, they turn to Earl Bassett for help. In 'Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell' (2017) Burt and Travis travel to Canada to investigate reports of Graboid attacks. They fear that Graboids are being used by the American military to develop bio-weapons but face a race against time to save Burt when they learn that he has been infected by Graboid venom. Finally, in 'Tremors: Shrieker Island' (2020), big game hunter Bill (Richard Brake) has been genetically engineering Graboids, making them more powerful and intelligent and thus more challenging to hunt.
