In pursuit of Skrull leader Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Vers travels to Earth in the year 1995 and begins to be plagued by visions of her forgotten past as a pilot in the US Air Force. She teams up with future head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to hunt down Talos, while continuing to search for answers about her true identity. In 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019), following on from 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018), the surviving Avengers attempt to undo the destruction caused by Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Finally, in 'Spider-Man: Far from Home' (2019) Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland) takes a much-needed break with his friends. After setting out on their quest from the safety of Bag End, the band of travellers soon find themselves pitted against a range of strange and fearsome opponents, in addition to a small, slimy creature known simply as Gollum (Andy Serkis). In 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' (2013), while Gandalf heads south on his own, Bilbo, Thorin and the dwarves enter the treacherous Mirkwood Forest on their way to the mountain. When they reach Lake-town Bilbo has to perform the role he was assigned at the start of the quest - to find a secret door that will lead him to the lair of Smaug the dragon (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch). In the final instalment, 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' (2014), Bilbo, Thorin and the other dwarves have unintentionally released Smaug from the Lonely Mountain and endangered the residents of Lake-town. Bilbo has to make a difficult decision when Thorin puts his desire to find the royal jewel Arkenstone before his loyalty to his friends. Meanwhile, Gandalf discovers that the evil Sauron has returned, commanding a horde of Orcs to attack the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo and his friends must fight for their survival as five armies meet in battle. In 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' (2001) Frodo (Elijah Wood) is a hobbit living in the Shire, a quiet, peaceful part of Middle Earth. When it turns out that his elderly relative Bilbo (Ian Holm) is harbouring the ultimate Ring of Power and the evil Nazgul riders of Sauron are coming to find it, Frodo is entrusted by wizard Gandalf to deliver the Ring out of the Shire without it falling into their hands. Frodo leaves the Shire aided by his cousins Merry (Dominic Monaghan), Pippin (Billy Boyd) and trusty friend Sam Gamgee (Sean Astin), but they soon realise that the agents of Mordor are everywhere and that their trip is far from over. Once they reach the Elvish realm of Rivendell the hobbits form part of the anti-Sauron fellowship, which includes Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Boromir (Sean Bean), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Gandalf. Together they must battle across Middle Earth to destroy the Ring by casting it into Mount Doom, the fiery chasm in the centre of Mordor. In 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' (2002) the Fellowship of the Ring has now divided and Sam and Frodo are lost in the hills of Emyn Muil. They are also being followed by Gollum, a creature who promises to help them travel to Mordor. Meanwhile Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli search for the hobbits Merry and Pippin in the Kingdom of Rohan, which is currently being attacked by Saruman's orc armies. Gandalf returns as Gandalf the White to remind Aragorn of his destiny to unite the people of Rohan with Gondor. Whilst the Fellowship is not travelling together they must unite against the powerful forces coming from the Two Towers: Orthanc Tower in Isengard where Saruman has bred a deadly army of 10,000, and Sauron's fortress at Barad-dûr. Finally, in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' (2003), Gandalf manages to rally Gondor's fallen army with the help of King Theoden of Rohan (Bernard Hill) for the biggest battle in the history of Middle Earth. Meanwhile, Aragorn finally faces up to his noble responsibilities. In 'The Fast and the Furious' (2001) undercover cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) is assigned to the Los Angeles illegal street racing scene to search for the criminals behind a string of hijackings. His prime suspect is Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), whose passion for Japanese fast cars is matched only by his enthusiasm for stealing hi-tech equipment. In '2 Fast 2 Furious' (2003) O'Conner finds himself on the trail of another group of underground car enthusiasts. This time the location is Miami, where O'Conner has been making money out of street racing and is tasked with bringing down the drugs baron Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) in exchange for wiping clean his criminal record. In 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' (2006) street racing loner Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) avoids jail time by absconding to Tokyo to live with his uncle in a cramped apartment. In the land that gave birth to the majority of modified racers on the road, the simple street race has been replaced by drift racing, an even more deadly combination of brutal speed on heart-stopping courses. Boswell inevitably gets drawn into the racing and the complexities of the underworld which surround it. In 'Fast & Furious' (2009) fugitive ex-con Dominic Toretto reignites his feud with agent O'Conner on the streets of Los Angeles, but as the two men find themselves facing a common enemy in the form of a heroin importer, their attempts to infiltrate his operation result in an unlikely alliance. In 'Fast & Furious 5' (2011) Toretto and his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) are forced to enlist O'Conner's help once again as they find themselves cornered by a ruthless drugs gang in Rio de Janeiro. But the Rio gangsters are not the only ones on Toretto's tail; wily federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has also been assigned to track down the pair, and will stop at nothing to corner his prey. In 'Fast & Furious 6' (2013) Toretto and the rest of his compatriots are forced to kill time lying low in different locations around the world following their lucrative Rio heist. When agent Hobbs offers Toretto and his crew full pardons in return for taking down Owen Shaw (Luke Evans)'s gang of mercenary drivers, the offer seems too good to pass. But as the rivals head for a showdown on the streets of London, Toretto learns that Shaw's second in command is none other than his presumed dead former lover, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). In 'Fast & Furious 7' (2015) the group are now being targeted by Shaw's ex-special forces brother Deckard (Jason Statham). Left with no choice but to defend themselves, it isn't long before Toretto, Hobbs, O'Conner and the rest of the gang become embroiled in a feud between international terrorists and the US government. In 'Fast & Furious 8' (2017) the team are left shocked when their leader Toretto betrays them after being seduced into a world of crime by international cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron). He has been kidnapped by the Shredder (James Saito), the ruthless leader of the Foot Clan, a group of ninjas who are responsible for a wave of thefts across the city. However, the Shredder proves to be a formidable foe who shares a complicated past with Splinter and the Turtles will need help from reporter April O'Neil (Judith Hoag) and vigilante Casey Jones (Elias Koteas) to save him. In 'The Secret of the Ooze' (1991) the Shredder (François Chau) wants to avenge his previous defeat and so he kidnaps Professor Jordan Perry (David Warner), the man who created the substance which originally mutated Splinter and the Turtles. As the Shredder forces Perry to use the mutagen again, the Turtles race to find a way to stop him. However, they find themselves at odds over how best to proceed and Raphael (voice of Laurie Faso) joins forces with pizza delivery boy and martial arts expert Keno (Ernie Reyes Jr.) to take on the Shredder and the Foot Clan alone. Finally, in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III' (1993), when a mystical sceptre transports April (Paige Turco) back in time to feudal Japan, the Turtles quickly follow.
