In the sixth series, after Berthaud returns to work early from maternity leave, she and her team are tasked with solving a murder case after an anonymous dismembered victim is discovered. In the seventh series, Gilou (Godard) and Berthaud reunite to investigate the murder of their former commissioner, Herville (Nicolas Briançon). Joined by Gilou's new partner Ali (Tewfik Jallab), the team find themselves on the trail of a teenage gang member which leads them to uncover an expansive money laundering operation. In the eighth series, a murder investigation into the death of a young Moroccan boy results in Berthaud and her team dealing closing in on a network of drug-smuggling. Gilou is freed from prison however his strict parole conditions place limits on his ability to assist.
