After abducting Fandor, Fantômas disguises himself as the man and proceeds to execute a successful jewellery heist. When Inspector Juve (Louis de Funès) joins the hunt, Fantômas does the same, this time disguised as Juve, and then manages to escape their grasp. In 'Fantômas Unleashed' (1965), the criminal mastermind has plans for world domination and begins kidnapping scientists to help him achieve his goal. As Fandor uses Fantômas's own methods against him and attempts to lure the villain into a trap, Juve unwittingly foils his plans. Finally, in 'Fantômas vs Scotland Yard' (1967), Fantômas seeks to impose a tax upon the rich and threatens to kill anyone who does not comply with his demands. He continues to protest his innocence until he discovers that his wife Chantal (Romy Schneider) has given the police a damning statement. In 'Deadly Circuit' (1983) Beauvoir (Serrault), a private investigator, tracks Catherine (Isabelle Adjani), a serial murderer, across Europe. Haunted by memories of his long-lost daughter, he becomes increasingly obsessed with Catherine and sees his daughter in her.
