Robben Ford har en 40 år lång karrär bakom sig. Han är en hyllad och erkänd gitarrist som hamnat på Musician Magazines lista på "1900-talets 100 bästa gitarrister". Ford har under åren samarbetet med en hel del prominenta artister, bland dem Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell och George Harrison.<br/><br/>På detta album rör sig Ford inom den bluesiga sydstatsrocken och levererar ett album som både hyllar bluesrocken, där han verkat i hela sitt liv, men också vågar plocka in fräscha och moderna influenser.

Redan vid unga år fastnade han för den råa och skitiga musiken som spelades i Storbritannien i mitten av sextiotalet. Särskilt fastnade han för de egensinniga och innovativa gitarristerna och då framför allt de tre tungviktarna Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck och Jimmy Page. Han hyser den djupaste respekt för vad de har åstakommit. <br/> <br/>Joe Bonamassas kärlek till den brittiska blues-rocken är själva hjärtat i all den musik som inspirerat honom och för första gången fick han tillfälle att visa sin aktning och respekt för alla dessa artister men främst då Clapton, Beck och Page.<br/> <br/>I femmannabandet ingick Michael Rhodes (bas), Reese Wynans (klaviaturer), Anton Fig (trummor) och Russ Irwin (kompgitarr och stämsång).<br/> <br/>Joe Bonamassa anser det nödvändigt att lyfta fram dessa fantastiska musiker för framtida generationers bluesartister. "Om det inte vore för dessa brittiska bluesmusiker så skulle nog inte bluesen haft den stora inverkan på rockmusiken som den har idag och skulle kanske rent av förpassats till historieböckerna," säger Bonamassa.

Gifted with the ability to write thought provoking lyrics, he became a true master of the folk and blues scene. The list of artists that have paid tribute to him by covering his songs is endless, among these are Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Animals, Bruce Springsteen and Lonnie Donegan to name but a few. Although many people are familiar with Lead Belly's songs, only few know the true story of the interesting person behind them.

180 gram vinyl.<br/><br/>Muddy's Sunday afternoon performance at Newport Jazz Festival proved a joyful termination, sparked by the opening 'I Got My Brand On You' with Otis Spann honkytonking his way to glory, then powered on with a version of Big Joe Williams' 'Baby Please Don't Go' and concluding with a stupendous rendition of 'Got My Mojo Working'. The set had members of the crowd dancing and Muddy displaying his own terpsichorean expertise as he grabbed James Cotton and the two waltzed across the stage in best ballroom style! With Muddy utterly exhausted from his efforts, it was left to Otis Spann to perform the vocal duties on 'Goodbye Newport Blues,' a piece featuring an impromptu lyric from poet Langston Hughes, who was present at Newport that day and moved to contribute the perfect ending to one of the finest recordings ever issued in the name of blues. An LP that would aptly be listed twelfth amid the Rolling Stone '50 Greatest Albums of All-Time'.

Blues In A Bottle. One of the most prolific of bluesmen, Sam 'Lightnin' Hopkins was equally one of the most revered - a musician who delivered a highly personalised line in country blues, but could also run a line in electric guitar boogie that made him a jukebox favourite. Recorded in Houston during July 1961, Blues In My Bottle is a fine example of Hopkins' storytelling skills and his unlimited ability to shape the blues in all its various forms.
