Keith Jarretts nya - nu även på dubbelvinyl!<br/><br/>New Vienna är den fjärde konsertinspelningen som släpps från Keith Jarretts sista soloturné i Europa. Den följer efter Munich 2016, Budapest Concert och Bordeaux Concert. Som Jarrett-kännare vet innehåller hans diskografi redan en legendarisk Vienna Concert (inspelad i Wiener Staatsoper). När han återvände till den österrikiska huvudstaden 2016 framträdde han på en annan historisk plats med levande akustik - Musikvereins Gyllene sal. New Vienna släpps i samband med att Keith Jarrett fyller 80 år.<br/><br/>New Vienna is the fourth concert recording to be released from Keith Jarrett's final European solo tour. It follows Munich 2016, Budapest Concert and Bordeaux Concert. Why New Vienna? As Jarrett aficionados will know, his discography already includes a legendary Vienna Concert (recorded at the Vienna State Opera) whose music, he once claimed, spoke "the language of the flame itself", after long years of "courting the fire". Keith Jarrett's 2016 return to the Austrian capital brought the flames of inspiration to another historic location with lively acoustic properties, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where, at the start of the previous century, Schoenberg, Berg and Webern had premiered works that challenged and changed the course of modern music. New Vienna, shaping its new music in the moment, is near-encyclopedic in scope. The album is issued as Keith Jarrett turns 80.

Åtta år efter Blue Maqams återvänder Anouar Brahem med ett gripande projekt, döpt efter en versrad av poeten Mahmoud Darwish, som frågar: "Vart ska fåglarna flyga, efter den sista himlen?" Basisten Dave Holland och pianisten Django Bates är återigen en del av den tunisiske oud-mästarens internationella kvartett, nu tillsammans med cellisten Anja Lechner.

After Martin Hederos gathered his dream band, Hederosgruppen has become one of Sweden's most hyped jazz acts, both live and on record. Yes, they are often placed in the jazz category, but they seem primarily focused on making fun music. Hederosgruppen made their debut with Storstrejk (2020) which was followed by Ståplats (2022), the only album thus far to win the Gyllene Skivan, Grammis and Manifest awards. Expectations for the third album may be high, but the group acts colly, calls their new creation Stilbrott (Breach of style) and puts three ski jumpers on the cover. As before, all five band members contribute ideas and compositions. The result could have been fragmented, but this quintet has created their style out of eclecticism. As before, they mix the riotous with the romantic in any number of styles. The common thread is the joy of being alive and playing live.
