Barnen på Björklunda gård är en läsebok för årskurs 3-5. I boken får eleverna lära känna Tora och Edvard, som var barn på Björklunda gård vid förra sekelskiftet. Berättelsen skildrar familjens liv år 1899 och vi får följa dem in i det nya seklet. Tora och Edvard går i skolan, arbetar tillsammans med sina föräldrar, leker med kamrater och lyssnar till gammelfarmors kusliga berättelser. Barnen gör en spännande resa till Stockholm, där de träffar på några av den tidens nyheter såsom bil och telefon. Varje kapitel är en avslutad berättelse och följs av faktasidor med fotografier och texter som belyser innehållet i kapitlet. Här kan eleverna läsa om hur livet tedde sig vid förra sekelskiftet och med det som utgångspunkt göra jämförelser med hur det ser ut idag. I slutet av boken finns en antologidel med texter som barnen vid den här tiden kunde träffa på. Boken kan användas för upplevelseläsning, som faktabok vid olika slag av temaarbeten och vid undersökande arbete kring livet förr i tiden.
