Paul Simon, who has consistently crafted some of the most influential and enduring work in the history of music, has announced the release of his highly anticipated musical work, Seven Psalms. Intended to be listened to as one continuous piece, the 33-minute, seven-movement composition transcends the concept of the "album". <br/> <br/>Recorded entirely on acoustic instruments, and predominantly performed by Paul, Seven Psalms showcases Simon's craft at its finest and most captivating, simply with his voice and guitar. <br/> <br/>A stunning, intricately layered work, it's a record which establishes an engaging and meditative, almost hymnal soundscape, with Paul's lyrics providing the gravitational center for constellations of sound woven from guitar strings and other acoustic instrumentation - including choral elements from the highly-regarded British vocal ensemble VOCES8, and a beautiful vocal appearance by Edie Brickell.<br/> <br/>True to the origin of psalms as hymns meant to be sung rather than spoken, Seven Psalms reaches back to the very genesis of folk music: King David's Psalms. Legendary Dutch progressive rockers Focus return with their 12th studio album, recorded in the world- renowned Wisseloord Studio in the Netherlands. The majority of the album has been written by Thijs van Leer who, at age 75, still rises at 4.30 am every day to work on his latest compositions. The unstoppable Pierre van der Linden takes up Focus drumming duties, as he has done for more than 50 years. This is the first Focus album to have been produced by band members Udo Pannekeet and Menno Gootjes - who also contribute compositions. The album features a first for a Focus album: a completely improvised piece, recorded as it spontaneously took place in the studio. Once again, Focus showcase their long-standing association with artist Roger Dean - whose beautiful artwork graces the packaging.

" STUNNING 3CD SET OF GENESIS' FINEST RADIO RECORDINGS.<br/><br/>Formed by Charterhouse pupils Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Peter Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips in 1968, Genesis were named by former pupil, the now disgraced Jonathan King. With Phil Collins and Steve Hackett joining in the early '70s - following the departure of Phillips - after a string of reasonably successful albums through the first half of the decade, the concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was released in 1974, and was promoted with a transatlantic tour featuring an elaborate stage show. Following the Lamb tour, Gabriel left Genesis in August 1975 to begin a solo career.<br/><br/>Collins then took over as lead vocalist and following Steve Hackett's departure too, Genesis entered its most successful phase of all, which pretty much continues to this day.<br/><br/>This triple disc boxed set celebrates the longevity, musicianship, song writing genius and accessibility of Genesis across their career, containing as it does a trio of radio broadcast recordings featuring some of the band's finest concerts and most cherished sessions.<br/><br/>Kicking off on DISC ONE with the group's show recorded in Zurich, Switzerland, on July 2nd 1977, while undertaking their Wind and Wuthering tour; this was the band's final jaunt to include Steve Hackett in the line-up. Next up, DISC TWO features their dynamic 1976 show recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon on June 12th, while on their Trick Of The Tail Tour, their first without Peter Gabriel out front.<br/><br/>The set concludes on DISC THREE, which boasts Genesis' BBC Radio Sessions recorded for the corporation between 1970 and 1972, and broadcast live on Radio One.
