Hendrix Jimi
Jimi Hendrix, eg. Johnny Allen Hendrix, född 27 november 1942 i Seattle i Washington i USA, död 18 september 1970 i London i England i Storbritannien, rockgitarrist, sångare och låtskrivare, känd som en av rockmusikens främsta stilbildande gitarrister. Jimi Hendrix revolutionerade gitarrspelet med en kombination av exceptionell spelteknik och användandet av ny förstärkarteknik och elektronik såsom fuzzboxar och effektpedaler. Hans influenser var främst blues- och soultraditionerna men även 1960-talets psykedeliska strömningar. Hendrix fick flest röster i en omröstning 1999 anordnad av Guitar Magazine, där professionella gitarrister röstade fram 1900-talets främste gitarrist. Han blev även känd för att avsluta konserterna med att slå sönder sin gitarr på scenen, och sätta eld på gitarren.

Having already conquered the band's UK base as well as Continental Europe over the previous ten months, the vast majority of the 17,000 plus Los Angeles concert goers were there to see headliners The Mamas & The Papas and were caught off guard by Jimi Hendrix's electrifying musicality and showmanship.
