'Nouveau Calls' is the 14th album by Rock band Wishbone Ash. In 1987, IRS Records founder and original Wishbone manager Miles Copeland III began a record label entitled "No Speak", which featured all instrumental music. For the first time in 14 years, Andy Powell and Steve Upton joined forces with Martin Turner and Ted Turner. Fans were beyond elated to hear that the original Wishbone Ash was back in action, however, reactions were mixed because there were no vocals on the new album. Shedding both vocals and pseudo-heaviness, the original quartet is playing in well thought-out compositions with of course the twin lead guitars of Ted Turner & Andy Powell. Today, these tunes still come out crisp and invigorating. The title 'Nouveau Calls' is a pun on 'No Vocals'.

'Live Dates II' from 1980, recorded at various gigs from '76-'80, is the perfect live collection of the amazing '75-'81 line-up. This classic live album displays everything that made Wishbone Ash a legendary live act. The twin guitars of Andy Powell and Laurie Wisefield soar above the rock solid team of drummer Steve Upton and bassist Martin Turner. Turner, who sings lead vocals on most of the tracks here is in fine voice. A wish come true for Ash fans and for '70s rock guitar fans, to check out "F.U.B.B." and "The Way Of The World" for some serious axe-slaying. Other highlights include rocking versions of "Living Proof" and "Doctor" and a heavy version of "Helpless".
