'Penny Serenade' (1941) follows Julie Gardiner (Irene Dunne) and Roger Adams (Cary Grant) as they fall in love, marry and struggle to have a family. Finally in 'The Strange Love of Martha Ivers' (1946) Martha (Barbara Stanwyck) is married to Walter (Kirk Douglas) but she doesn't love him.
