Buffalo Bill planerar att sätta ihop en kringresande vilda västernshow och indianhövding Sitting Bull ska vara en av huvudattraktionerna. Tanken är att Sitting Bull ska medverka i en uppsättning om slaget vid Little Big Horn, men indianerna har en annan historia de vill berätta. Nämligen den om hur amerikanska soldater slaktar obeväpnade indiankvinnor och barn. Deras förslag blir självklart inte godtaget. I stället bjuds publiken Buffalo Bills omskrivna historia: I slaget vid Little Big Horn är det general Custer som segrar!
