The film chronicles the Nazi occupation of France from 1940 to 1944, using archive footage such as propagandist newsreels and footage of Maurice Chevalier singing for the German troops, coupled with personal interviews with French Resistance fighters and former German officers as well as government officials, spies, war veterans and ordinary citizens. Focusing in particular on the occupation of one small French industrial city, Clermont-Ferand, the film asks probing questions about the anti-Semitism and xenophobia prevalent in French society at the time. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1972, and was famously used by Woody Allen as a leitmotif in his film 'Annie Hall'.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

Convinced of Lennox's innocence, Marlowe follows a convoluted trail which leads him to his friend's mistress, Eileen Wade (Nina Van Pallandt), her alcoholic husband (Sterling Hayden) and hood Marty Augustine (Mark Rydell), to whom Lennox owed a substantial sum of money. After Jacqui leaves him and takes their daughter Georgie (Greer Robson) with her, Al hatches a plan to kidnap Georgie and go into hiding. When five-year-old Klara (Annika Wedderkop), the daughter of Lukas's best friend Theo (Thomas Bo Larsen), tells the headmistress of the school - untruthfully - that Lukas has acted abusively towards her, the accusations quickly escalate and Lukas soon faces unanimous condemnation from everyone around him, including his closest friends.
