The Goonies - Dödskallegänget är kultfilmen som väcker starka nostalgikänslor hos barnet inom oss än idag, 40 år efter premiär.<br/><br/>Bröderna Mikey (Sean Astin) och Brandon (Josh Brolin) med familj och vänner stortrivs i den lilla staden. Den hotas dock av ett stort företag som vill åt marken. Det enda sättet att rädda staden är genom att skaffa fram mycket pengar, fort. När Mikey råkar hitta en karta som visar var den ökände piraten One-Eye gömde guld och juveler drar hela gänget ut på skattjakt. Men snart blir de jagade av farliga gangsters...<br/><br/>Det är inte svårt att se Spielbergs fingeravtryck över den här filmen. Han hade just regisserat "Jakten på den försvunna skatten" (1981) och den övernaturliga familjefilmen "E.T." (1982), när idén föddes till en äventyrsfilm med barn i huvudrollerna. En storslagen skattjakt som skulle utspelas i deras egen småstad snarare än på exotiska platser, men laddat med lika mycket spänning och dödliga fällor som Indiana Jones vanligtvis får hantera.<br/><br/>Spielberg lämnade över idén till Chris Columbus, en ung men ambitiös manusförfattare i början av sin karriär. Columbus hade nyss skrivit "Gremlins" (1984) som Spielberg producerade, och de hade blivit goda vänner. Columbus har sedan dess själv blivit en framgångsrik regissör av familjefilmer som "Mrs. Doubtfire" och "Harry Potter".<br/><br/>Den tredje pusselbiten blev Richard Donner, filmskaparen som vid den tiden var mest känd för rysaren "Omen" (1976) och den stilbildande superhjältefilmen "Superman" (1978). Med ett öga för både skräck, humor och action visade han sig vara det rätta valet för att ta hand om sju skrikande barn i en mörk och läskig grotta.<br/><br/>I rollen som Mikey ser vi en ung Sean Astin i hans första stora filmroll. Han är förstås mest känd som Frodos trogne vän Samwise Gamgi i "Sagan om ringen"-trilogin. Mikeys bror, Brandon, spelas av en 16-årig Josh Brolin.
