Domnérus Arne: Jazz at the Pawnshop [2 Vinyl LP]

Under två decemberkvällar 1976 skrevs svensk jazzhistoria på Stampen ("The Pawnshop") i Gamla stan. Fem musiker på den trånga scenen med vibrafon, trumset, piano och bas samt en blåsare. Lars Erstrand, Egil Johansen, Bengt Hallberg, Georg Riedel och Arne Domnérus, alla i sina bästa år trots att de startat sina karriärer 25 år tidigare. Det blev två gnistrande kvällar med samtliga magnifikt inspirerade. Keith Jarretts nya - nu även på dubbelvinyl!<br/><br/>New Vienna är den fjärde konsertinspelningen som släpps från Keith Jarretts sista soloturné i Europa. Den följer efter Munich 2016, Budapest Concert och Bordeaux Concert. Som Jarrett-kännare vet innehåller hans diskografi redan en legendarisk Vienna Concert (inspelad i Wiener Staatsoper). När han återvände till den österrikiska huvudstaden 2016 framträdde han på en annan historisk plats med levande akustik - Musikvereins Gyllene sal. New Vienna släpps i samband med att Keith Jarrett fyller 80 år.<br/><br/>New Vienna is the fourth concert recording to be released from Keith Jarrett's final European solo tour. It follows Munich 2016, Budapest Concert and Bordeaux Concert. Why New Vienna? As Jarrett aficionados will know, his discography already includes a legendary Vienna Concert (recorded at the Vienna State Opera) whose music, he once claimed, spoke "the language of the flame itself", after long years of "courting the fire". Keith Jarrett's 2016 return to the Austrian capital brought the flames of inspiration to another historic location with lively acoustic properties, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where, at the start of the previous century, Schoenberg, Berg and Webern had premiered works that challenged and changed the course of modern music.
