'The Soul Stirrers' were an American gospel music group founded in 1926. In 1950 Sam Cooke replaced R.H. Harris as lead singer. Their first recording under Sam Cooke's leadership was the song "Jesus Gave Me Water" in 1951. They also recorded the gospel songs "Peace In The Valley", "How Far Am I From Canaan?", "Jesus Paid The Debt" and "One More River", among many others. 'The Soul Stirrers' and all of its members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 as one of rock's early influences, and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000. Cooke was the inspiration for nearly every soul singer you will ever hear. On December 11, 1964, at the age of 33, Sam Cooke was shot and killed.<br/><br/>HIGH QUALITY

This is a collection of twenty-two of Elvis' heartfelt ballads recorded in the fifties dealing with love. From the very early "Love Me Tender" to the 'Kid Galahad' movie ballad "Home Is Where The Heart Is", this whole collection just shines. No one could sing a romantic song as 'The King. There are some rarer songs here that are really great like "Doin' The Best I Can", "Young And Beautiful" and of course the Top Ten hits "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You," "Love Me," "Don't," and "Can't Help Falling in Love," as well as such Presley standards as "Are You Lonesome Tonight?." 'The King' is dead but 'The King' lives on forever!

'American Graffiti' is a 1973 American coming-of-age comedy film directed and co-written by George Lucas. Produced on a $777,000 budget, it has become one of the most profitable films of all time. This album contains 44 'Original Hits' including The Crows with "Gee", missing on the 1973 version of the 'American Graffiti' soundtrack. The biggest hits of the fifties are collected like: "That'll Be The Day", Buddy Holly "I'm Sorry", Brenda Lee "Surfin' Safari", Beach Boys "Runaway", Del Shannon and "Green Onions" from Booker T. & The MG's. This is a great set for casual listeners who only want the hits of that era.
