Indigo Bok
The ultimate reference on indigo dyeing techniques across the world

Gloriously pieced together, much like the fine garments it portrays, this colourful volume takes the reader on an international tour of indigo-coloured textiles, presenting a huge swathe of remarkable clothing, people and fabric. Catherine Legrand, who has spent over twenty years travelling and researching the subject, has a deep knowledge of the ancient techniques, patterns and clothing traditions that characterize ethnic textile design, knowledge that she deploys to great effect in seven chapters exploring the production of Indigo textiles throughout America, China, India, Africa, Central Asia, Japan and Laos/Vietnam, and the men and women behind them. This profusely illustrated photographic survey features more than 500 photographs, faithfully laid out to reproduce Catherine's actual travel notebooks, and is completed by specially commissioned drawings that provide close-ups on patterns and clothes.

Mark Ryden's Yakalina Secrets is the wondrous second installment in the artist's incredible gallery of creatures.

Foreword by Takashi Murakami

In his Pacific Northwest studio during the isolation of COVID-19, Mark Ryden began a series of his iconic half-animal, half-plush creatures that further explored his reverence for these beings, who are guides through a landscape of the unknown. The figures in these paintings are neither human nor animal, they are spiritual entities that create a bridge between the human and animal worlds in which so much disharmony exists.

This book features all of the original portraits of Ryden's mysterious and mythical creatures. The resulting gallery of enchanted characters embodies the artist's meticulously realized signature blend of archetype, kitsch, and narrative mysticism. Mark Ryden'sYakalina Secrets features works from two of the artist's exhibitions, organized in collaboration with Emmanuel Perrotin and Kasmin Gallery: Animal Secrets in Paris and Yakalina 9 in Tokyo.

Earth, Sky & Water Bok
Instantly calming houses in remote Scandinavian locations that will make you want to escape into nature.

In a world of starchitects competing to design ever taller glass and steel megaliths, there are still some architects designing with natural materials at a human scale, for comfort, longevity and visual delight. Mette Lange is one such architect. She creates beautiful, unpretentious homes in spectacular scenery that offer visual inspiration for homebuilders and dreamers alike.

Earth, Sky and Water presents 15 houses designed by Mette across three chapters: By the Water, In the Forest and In the Countryside. First-person project texts describe Mette's unique practice of camping on-site at the start of each design process, and detail the thinking behind each house's main features. Inviting photography takes readers inside these homes and draws particular attention to the choice of materials.

In keeping with her socially responsible ethos, Mette has also designed schools for the children of migrant workers in India, where she spends part of each year. These projects, presented in the book alongside her own home in India, inform her practice at home in Denmark.

Mette has kept her studio small in order to remain fully involved in each project at every level. As well as a visual feast of deceptively simple Scandinavian summerhouses that will leave the reader yearning for one of their own, the book offers a blueprint for aspiring architects on how to escape the rat race by running their own sustainable studio. Renowned architecture writer and fan of Mette's work, Kenneth Frampton, contributes an afterword.
