Slow Skiing - Presence And Awareness For Greater Experiences Bok
Slow Skiing is a book about the love of snow nominated to the Swedish Publishing Price in 2021. Meet Frida Hansdotter, The Bunch through Magnus Granér and Alex Hackel, Evelina Nilsson, Andreas Jonsson, Martin Alzén, Per Strömberg and Mårten Johansson in personal interviews about their views on life and skiing. Magnificent pictures and reflective texts wake the urge to feel skis beneath your feet and experience a landscape shrouded in white. Cissi and Mats Erwald write from the heart about presence, self-reflection and being brave enough to change. SLOW SKIING - A book about presence and awareness In this 152-page coffee table book, the authors present a ten-point manifesto that is described in more detail in the book's three chapters. Each chapter contains interviews with different ski profiles, stories from the authors' own experiences and inviting pictures of ski and adventure photographers, such as Alric Ljunghager and Zoya Lynch. The book is written based on the authors' love of skiing and is about reflecting and taking advantage of both winter and life at a slower pace. The authors changed their lives a few years ago to be able to be ski bums every season. With their thoughts and selected images, they arouse the desire to have skis under your feet and to experience the grandeur of a nature embedded in white. IT STARTED IN A CHAIRLIFT - I sat in a chairlift last year and experienced that everyone below was so stressed. The feeling led to many discussions about stress, presence and performance. During the conversations, we understood our need to embrace skiing in a different way. A way where the focus is on presence and awareness to get a greater experience. That was when the idea for the book Slow Skiing was born, says Cissi Erwald. WITH LIMITED RESOURCES - We have run the entire bookproject based on our passion and we publish it in our own company. Together we have taken care of everything from a simple text file to a finished book with an important message. This is the first book we write, but maybe not the last, says Mats Erwald. SAID ABOUT THE BOOK SLOW SKIING - With Slow Skiing, Mats and Cissi have succeeded in describing the love of skiing, consideration for the environment and the climate, and the pleasure of savouring the local culture and cuisine, says Erik Huss, CEO Husstainability, glaciologist, climate expert and scientific advisor in Protect Our Winters. ABOUT THE AUTHORS Cissi and Mats Erwald, designer and corporate consultant respectively, work in the joint company Erwald Group AB. In recent years, they have spent at least one month per season as ski bums in the Alps.

Winter Swimming Bok
A beautifully illustrated exploration of cold-water traditions in Scandinavia and around the world, and a thorough account of why winter swimming gives such a boost to body and soul.

Whether in lake, lido, river or sea, we know the benefits of swimming outdoors and in nature - environmentally friendly and accessible, it can influence our happiness, our energy and our inner tranquility, and give us that winter glow.

Danish scientist Dr Susanna Soberg leads us step by step into the icy water and explains the "cold-shock response", the massive endorphin rush as our body reacts and adapts to very cold temperatures through the winter season. Not only do our circulation, heart, lungs and skin respond positively, but our immune system, metabolism and mental health too. In particular she explains how our "brown fat" is activated to benefit multiple health conditions.

Winter swimming is fast becoming one of our most popular pastimes. This beautifully illustrated exploration of cold-water traditions in Scandinavia and around the world shows how it can have a significant positive impact on our physical and mental health, confidence and well-being, providing such a boost to body and soul.

Translated from the Danish by Elizabeth DeNoma

Fly Bok
Equal parts photo-rich lookbook, and cultural commentary, Fly: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion is the story of the extraordinary intersection of high fashion and basketball, from the league's inception to today, and celebrates the iconic style of NBA athletes.

Each chapter explores the style of an era and the cultural influences that shaped it: The league's inception in 1949, pre-Civil Rights Movement, when the NBA was mostly comprised of white players who wore suits and skinny ties. The years following the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the birth of funk and R&B when basketball fashion got flashier (think Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Wilt Chamberlain wearing fur coats and big hats). The Michael Jordan era of the 1980s and 1990s, with its oversize suits. The epic Iverson/Hip-Hop years of the late 1990s and early 2000s. And now to today, a time defined not only by social media and high fashion's birthing of the tunnel walk (think LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Russell Westbrook), but one in which athletes are idealized as style icons and activists, figures who inspire conversations beyond how they play and what they wear.

Net Gains Bok
An in-depth examination of the rise of analytics in soccer and the wild experiments unfolding around the world in the beautiful gameNet Gains: Inside the Beautiful Game's Analytics Revolution takes readers on a tour across the world and throughout soccer history, introducing the many people who have attempted to shine a light onto and innovate a sport that, in many ways, is still stuck in the Dark Ages. This deep dive into the rise of analytics in soccer-a sport where tradition reigns supreme-shows how revolutionary tactics and underexplored metrics are breaking the beautiful game wide open. By exploring how massive institutions built on billions of dollars can function for so long without any kind of introspection-and what happens when people from the outside attempt to question the status quo-author Ryan O'Hanlon, staff writer at ESPN, shows how time and again experts, managers, coaches, players, and fans feel they know the best approach for any given team or player, and yet get undermined by the complexity of the game-and human behavior. To tell this globe-trekking story, O'Hanlon takes readers inside the front offices and analytics departments of the top professional leagues' most cutting-edge clubs and profiles a misfit cast of number-crunchers, behavioral economists, tech insiders, and managers all working to move beyond the philosophical side of soccer and uncover the hard truths behind possession, goals, and developing talent.
