Nordens jord har förvandlats till aska, och floderna är giftiga. Rollpersonerna måste överleva i en värld där ingenting längre lever, alltmedan de håller sig undan från den kristne biskopen Ansgar som sänts till Skandinavien för att döpa de sista överlevande, vare sig de vill eller ej. Yggdrasil Burns har skapats under tredjepartslicensen för Mörk Borg. Spelet är helt fristående, men kompatibelt med och inspirerat av Mörk Borg.
