In 'Inception' (2010) Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a professional thief with a difference: the spoils he goes after are not material objects but the thoughts, dreams and secrets buried in the minds of other people. In 'Interstellar' (2014), on a resource-depleted Earth in the near future, the discovery of a wormhole which can transport users through time and space unites scientists and explorers in the most important mission in human history. Among the potential travellers is a widowed engineer (Matthew McConaughey) who must decide whether to remain with his two children or to test the limits of human space travel, to see if there is a future for humanity out among the stars or whether the end of the Earth spells the end for humanity. 'Dunkirk' (2017) tells the story of the Dunkirk evacuation during the Second World War. In May 1940, hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers are trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk after being pushed back by the German army during the Battle of France, prompting a massive rescue operation to evacuate them. As the evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo, gets underway, the soldiers of the British Expeditionary Force holds a shrinking position as the Nazis advance upon them. Meanwhile, civilian sailors back home are called upon to use whatever vessels they have to aid the rescue effort across the Channel as the Royal Air Force tries to defend the vulnerable troops on the ground from the skies. Finally, in 'Tenet' (2020), while attempting to foil a terrorist attack in Kiev, the Protagonist (John David Washington) learns of a future technology capable of reversing time. Employed by a shadowy international organisation, the Protagonist works with handler Neil (Robert Pattinson) on a mission to investigate the origins of the future technology as they race to prevent it from being used to destroy the world.

In the original 1987 film 'Predator', Major Alan 'Dutch' Schaefer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and a band of mercenaries head into the Central American jungle to rescue some Americans from guerillas. However, there is an additional evil force at work in the jungle, something not human. The mercenaries are picked off one by one and soon Schaefer must face the alien predator alone. In the 1990 follow-up, 'Predator 2', crime-riddled futuristic Los Angeles becomes the target of an alien predator, killing drug lords and police alike. A maverick cop (Danny Glover) and a federal agent (Gary Busey) set out to capture the creature. Adrien Brody and Lawrence Fishburne star in the much later third film, 'Predators' (2010). Produced by Robert Rodriguez, the film follows contract killer Royce (Brody) as he is abducted by alien creatures and released along with seven other professional killers onto a strange and hostile planet. Battling for survival, the group comes across Noland (Fishburne), an American commando who has managed to survive on the planet for several years by hiding out in a cave, and discover to their horror that they have been brought there as prey for a new and merciless race of vicious human-eating alien predators.

In 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (2011) Will Rodman (James Franco) is a genetic engineer working in present-day San Francisco performing scientific tests on apes in his attempt to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. His first test subject is Caesar (Andy Serkis), the prototype of a new breed of ape with human-like intelligence. But when Caesar breaks free a revolution is triggered and an epic war for supremacy breaks out between humankind and the primates of the world. In 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014) Caesar, now the leader of a growing band of cognisant simians, starts the process towards a truce between the apes and the humans. Many consider the outbreak of war to only be a matter of time however, since the human population has been vastly reduced by a devastating virus and their role as the dominant species on Earth is in question. As the tension increases it may only take a single spark to trigger an explosive war that will pit the humans against the apes in an all-out battle for survival. Finally, in 'War for the Planet of the Apes' (2017), Caesar finds himself and his kind trapped in a war with the humans led by Colonel McCullogh (Woody Harrelson). Although adamant that apes are not savages, when a large number lose their lives at the hands of the humans, Caesar channels his dark side and vows to get revenge for every ape life lost.

Scientists Dr Ichiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Dr Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins) reveal that in 1954 a powerful monster was awakened and though 'nuclear tests' were carried out in the Pacific Ocean to destroy it, the creature has now returned. With the US Armed Forces, including Joe's son Navy Lieutenant Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), called into action, humanity fights for its survival. In 'Kong: Skull Island' (2017), for decades, Bill Randa (John Goodman) has hunted for the proof he needs to convince the world of what he already knows: monsters are real. And in a group of US servicemen commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), he thinks he has found the opportunity to get it. The crew, including photographer Weaver (Brie Larson) and Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), set out for a remote island in the Pacific shrouded in mystery. But when they arrive, they are met with the unassailable Kong. Packard confronts Randa, demanding he reveal what he knows before they are all slaughtered. Caught between the fearsome Kong who rules the island and the terrifying creatures that live below, the group must act quickly if they are to survive, and if Randa is to finally reveal the secret of the giant gorilla to the world. In 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' (2019), five years after Godzilla wreaked havoc in San Francisco, a host of new titans have awakened to challenge his dominance. While a debate rages about whether the ancient monsters should be killed, the cryptozoological agency Monarch faces off against a group of eco-terrorists who seek to control the monsters and bring about the end of civilisation. As Godzilla battles with Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah, Monarch scientists Dr Emma and Mark Russell (Vera Farmiga and Kyle Chandler) and their daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown) are drawn into the conflict and race to avert global disaster. In 'Godzilla Vs Kong' (2021), after Godzilla attacks a facility belonging to Apex Cybernetics, a team of researchers enlist Kong's help to guide them to the Titans' ancient home world in the Earth's core. A clash of the giant monsters threatens to derail the mission, but the adversaries are forced to join forces when a more powerful enemy emerges from the Apex labs. Finally, in 'Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire' (2024), a Hollow Earth outpost picks up a mysterious signal which stirs Godzilla into a frenzy. Meanwhile, Kong explores the depths of a sinkhole and makes an incredible discovery. As scientist Dr Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) sets out to locate the origin of the signal, Godzilla and Kong must combine forces if they are to defeat a new, devastating enemy which threatens humanity's continued existence.

In 'Bad Boys II' (2003), while the two men investigate an ecstasy drug ring in Miami, Marcus questions whether or not he should remain partners with Mike. Meanwhile, Mike is secretly dating Syd (Gabrielle Union), Marcus's younger sister, and neither of them are aware that she is working undercover for the DEA. As they continue to hunt drug lord Hector Juan Carlos Tapia (Jordi Mollà), Syd is kidnapped, and Mike and Marcus race to find her and stop Tapia before it's too late. In 'Bad Boys for Life' (2020), as Marcus considers retirement, someone with ties to Mike's past arrives in Miami intent on causing chaos and destruction. With the people they care about in danger, Mike and Marcus must reunite to put an end to the threat. Finally, in 'Bad Boys: Ride Or Die' (2024), Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) is accused of working with drug cartels and Mike and Marcus are determined to clear his name. They begin investigating but when they are set up, they are forced to become fugitives. With their colleagues hunting them, can they prove their innocence and uncover the full extent of the corruption within the Miami PD before it's too late?
