Inspired by blues music, Jones founded and named the band but became unhappy with the musical direction Keith Richards and Mick Jagger sought to pursue. He began to abuse drugs and alcohol and his performances became increasingly unreliable until he was fired from the band in June 1969. Less than a month later he was found drowned in his swimming pool. Interviews and archival footage are featured as Broomfield considers Jones's legacy and his place in musical history.
