In 'Deep Blue Sea' (1999), off the coast of Mexico, Dr Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows)'s team of scientists are working on a cure for Alzheimer's disease by injecting degenerate human brain cells into mako sharks. The three sharks selected grow to over 40 feet in length, and begin to demonstrate signs of intelligent behaviour. When pharmaceutical company executive Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) arrives with funding in mind, one of the sharks attacks scientist Jim Whitlock (Stellan Skarsgård), biting off his arm. However, the helicopter taking Whitlock to surgery crashes into the research centre and disables the protective security systems which keep the killer sharks at bay... In 'Deep Blue Sea 2' (2018) shark conservationist Dr Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre) is invited to see the work of billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach) and is horrified to learn he has been genetically altering bull sharks to enhance their learning capabilities. It's not long before the sharks begin to fight back against their captors, causing havoc and flooding the research facility. Will anyone make it out alive? Finally, in 'Deep Blue Sea 3' (2020) marine biologist Dr Emma Collins (Tania Raymonde) and her team are spending the summer in the abandoned fishing village of Little Happy in the Mozambique Channel, studying the effects of climate change on the great white sharks which return every year to the island. In 'Venom' (2018) journalist Eddie Brock (Hardy) is stuck in a professional rut and seeks out a story that will revive his career. When he starts investigating the survivalist group known as Life Foundation, Eddie finds himself face-to-face with a symbiotic alien which takes over his body. When Eddie discovers that the symbiote wishes to use his body as a vessel for committing murder, he must try to escape its clutches in order to save his own life. In 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' (2021), as he adjusts to life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, Eddie is granted an exclusive interview with incarcerated serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson). While he attempts to solve a murder case on behalf of Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham), Cletus becomes the new host of symbiote Carnage and breaks out of prison to reunite with his former girlfriend Frances Barrison (Naomie Harris). Finally, in 'Venom: The Last Dance' (2024), Eddie and Venom are forced to go on the run when they are hunted by forces from both of their worlds. Knull (Andy Serkis), the creator of the symbiotes, has sent a Xenophage after them, believing they hold the key to freeing him from his imprisonment. Meanwhile, soldier Rex Strickland (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and scientist Teddy Payne (Juno Temple) are also seeking the pair. In 'Superman - The Movie' (1978), a baby from the planet Krypton develops superhuman powers under Earth's yellow sun. As an adult (Christopher Reeve) he dons red cape and pants, and flies across the world doing good deeds, whilst also hiding behind the alias of mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent. Fellow journalist Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) falls for the muscleman in tights without realising he and her bumbling colleague are one and the same. This special-effects laden adaptation of the DC Comics series also features Marlon Brando in a highly-paid cameo and Gene Hackman as evil mastermind criminal Lex Luthor. Director Richard Lester provides a slightly tongue-in-cheek sequel with 'Superman 2' (1980), in which our hero continues to outstrip speeding bullets and leap tall buildings in a single bound, this time while preventing three arch-enemies from space from achieving world domination. In 'Superman 3' (1983), synthetic Kryptonite turns the normally upstanding Superman into a low-grade Supersleaze, clearing the path for a megalomaniac tycoon (Robert Vaughn) and a computer whiz (Richard Pryor) to take over the world. In 'Superman 4: The Quest for Peace' (1987), Superman, moved by a schoolboy's request, determines to rid the world of nuclear weapons. However, his arch enemy Lex Luthor, now a nuclear arms entrepreneur, clones Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow) from a strand of the hero's hair and the two mighty men battle it out in space. Finally, 'Superman Returns' (2006) is a sequel set after the events of 'Superman 2'. After eliminating General Zod and the other Kryptonian arch-villains, Ursa and Non, Superman (Brandon Routh) leaves Earth to search for his former home planet, Krypton. When he arrives he finds nothing but remnants and returns to Earth. Upon his return, he finds a Metropolis that doesn't need him anymore. Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) is engaged to a relative of his boss (James Marsden), and to make matters worse, his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has contrived a plot to build a continent using the crystals of Krypton that will wipe out most of North America. However, Quinn's hesitation to shoot Stavros in front of his family results in Stavros' escape and Quinn's imprisonment on a remote island as a punishment for his failure. With Kincaid due to give evidence against Dukhovich, the pair must negotiate a host of elite assassins as they look to make it to the trial in one piece.
