Freddy is out to exact his revenge on the children of those who burned him alive in retribution for his crimes, and the only way to avoid his reprisals is to avoid sleep - but Nancy knows that she can't stay awake for ever. In 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge' (1985), the Walsh family have moved into the house formerly owned by the Thompsons and it is not long before teenage son Jesse (Mark Patton) is having bad dreams. He and girlfriend Lisa (Kim Myers) attempt to work out what is happening to him, but before long Jesse becomes convinced that Freddy has taken over his body in order to continue his murderous rampage. In 'A Nightmare On Elm Street: Dream Warriors' (1987), Nancy, now a psychiatric doctor, teams up with Dr Neil Goldman (Craig Wasson) when a group of teenagers at his hospital begin to suffer a shared nightmare and soon realises that Freddy has returned to continue wreaking his revenge on the descendants of those who killed him. In 'A Nightmare On Elm Street: The Dream Master' (1988), Freddy has killed off all the children who originally punished him for his crimes, but now he's back and killing their friends. Luckily, Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox), one of the endangered kids, has the special ability to bring others into her dreams. She is the Dream Master and therefore the only one who can stop Freddy from wreaking more of his murderous havoc. In 'A Nightmare On Elm Street: The Dream Child' (1989), Alice is expecting a baby. Unfortunately for her, the meddlesome Freddy finds out about this and begins to control the foetus's dreams, hoping that the birth will be his means of returning to the land of the living. The Dream Master sets to work, taking the battle to Krueger one final time. In 'Freddy's Dead - The Final Nightmare' (1991), having wiped out all the children in his hometown, dreamstalking psycho killer Freddy decides it is time to head for pastures new. Luckily for him, he happens across a home for troubled teens and is soon indulging his unspeakable appetites once again. Finally, in 'Wes Craven's New Nightmare' (1994), a coda to the series in which Craven and his producer play themselves, persuading the now grown-up Heather Langenkamp to return to Elm Street one more time. Meanwhile, he doesn't get on with his stepdad Philip (Bill Nighy) and his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) has had enough of his lack of direction and penchant for downing pints in the local pub. Things only get worse with the advent of the zombie apocalypse but Shaun joins forces with his best friend Ed (Nick Frost) to fight back, determined to save Liz and his mother Barbara (Penelope Wilton) from a grisly fate. In 'Hot Fuzz' (2007), Sergeant Nicholas Angel (Pegg)'s arrest record puts the whole of the Metropolitan force to shame and so his superiors reassign him to rural Gloucestershire, hoping they have heard the last of him. However, the sleepy town he's posted to turns out to be a hotbed of grisly murder and vigilantism. Angel's diligence and character sits ill with the locals, except for police officer Danny Butterman (Frost), who's a huge fan of buddy cop movies. The pair bond and join forces to uncover the truth about who is responsible for the crimes. Finally, in 'The World's End' (2013), galvanised by Gary (Pegg), 40-somethings Oliver (Martin Freeman), Andy (Frost), Steven (Paddy Considine) and Peter (Eddie Marsan) return to their home town for one last attempt at completing the Golden Mile pub crawl and reaching the final pub, The World's End. Among the potential travellers is a widowed engineer (Matthew McConaughey) who must decide whether to remain with his two children or to test the limits of human space travel, to see if there is a future for humanity out among the stars or whether the end of the Earth spells the end for humanity. 'Dunkirk' (2017) tells the story of the Dunkirk evacuation during the Second World War. In May 1940, hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers are trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk after being pushed back by the German army during the Battle of France, prompting a massive rescue operation to evacuate them. As the evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo, gets underway, the soldiers of the British Expeditionary Force holds a shrinking position as the Nazis advance upon them. Meanwhile, civilian sailors back home are called upon to use whatever vessels they have to aid the rescue effort across the Channel as the Royal Air Force tries to defend the vulnerable troops on the ground from the skies. Finally, in 'Tenet' (2020), while attempting to foil a terrorist attack in Kiev, the Protagonist (John David Washington) learns of a future technology capable of reversing time.
