In 'Frankenstein' (1931) scientist Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) has become alienated from his friends and bride-to-be through his obsessive determination to create life. Frankenstein has created a monster (Boris Karloff) out of body parts acquired by his dwarfish assistant, Fritz (Dwight Frye), and succeeds in giving it life during an electrical storm. However, due to a mistake by Fritz, the creature possesses the brain of a killer, and after the dwarf torments it to breaking point, Frankenstein's creation escapes and goes on the rampage, terrorising the local community. In 'The Bride of Frankenstein' (1935) scientist Henry Frankenstein is recuperating, believing his creation to have been destroyed in a fire, when he receives a visit from his former mentor Dr Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger). Pretorius wishes Frankenstein to resume his experiments, but the latter refuses. When Pretorius then discovers the monster alive and now able to communicate, he uses it to kidnap Frankenstein's wife, thus blackmailing him into creating a mate. 'Son of Frankenstein' (1939) follows Baron Wolf von Frankenstein (Basil Rathbone), the son of scientist Henry Frankenstein, the monster's creator. When Wolf moves his family to an estate in a small village, the people in the community soon become very hostile towards him. With the help of demented blacksmith Ygor (Bela Lugosi), Wolf finds the monster's carcass and decides to bring it back to life, believing this to be the perfect way to restore his family's honour. In 'The Ghost of Frankenstein' (1942) Ygor seeks out Dr Ludwig Frankenstein (Cedric Hardwicke), son of the original Baron, in an attempt to revive the infamous monster (Lon Chaney Jr.). Ludwig initially refuses, seeing the creature as an instrument of evil, but changes his mind when he sees the opportunity to transplant the noble mind of the recently deceased Dr Kettering (Barton Yarborough) into the monster's body. Ygor, however, has other plans, and plots with Ludwig's unscrupulous colleague Dr Bohmer (Lionel Atwill) to substitute his own brain for Kettering's. In 'Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man' (1943) Larry Talbot aka the Wolf Man (Chaney Jr.) decides to seek a cure for his lycanthropic malady after being accidentally resurrected by grave robbers. With Dr Frankenstein now dead, Talbot is forced to turn to scientist Dr Frank Mannering (Patric Knowles) for help. Mannering claims that not only can he banish the Wolf Man forever, he also intends to resurrect Frankenstein's dormant monster (Lugosi). In 'House of Frankenstein' (1944) Dr Niemann (Karloff) escapes from the mental asylum in which he is being held and awakens Count Dracula (John Carradine), the Wolf Man and Frankenstein's monster (Glenn Strange) as he looks to gain revenge on his many enemies. Finally, in 'House of Dracula' (1945), Count Dracula arrives at the laboratory of Dr Edelmann (Onslow Stevens) claiming to seek a cure for his vampirism, but is actually looking to turn Edelmann's beautiful assistant into his vampire bride. Meanwhile, the Wolf Man asks Edelmann to bring his lycanthropy to an end. However, when the attempt to cure him fails, he throws himself off a cliff and ends up in an underground cavern where he discovers Frankenstein's monster.

Typ: DVD / Box Set

In 'It' (2017), set in Derry, Maine, in the late 1980s, a group of seven childhood friends, known as The Losers Club, unite to combat a mysterious threat which their cursed town had thought was long since buried. After his little brother Georgie (Jackson Robert Scott) disappears, along with several more of the town's youngsters, Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Liberher) gathers his group of outsider friends together to search for clues. Their quest eventually leads them to fight back against the shape-shifting, supernatural predator lurking in the shadows of their town and preying on children's innermost fears, manifesting itself as a killer clown called Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård). In 'It: Chapter 2' (2019), set 27 years after the events of the first film, the Losers Club return to Derry, Maine to fulfil their childhood oath when Pennywise resurfaces and continues preying on the town's children. Mike (Isaiah Mustafa), the only member of the group to remain in Derry, informs the others of the monster's return and summons them back to finish what they started. As they prepare to do battle with Pennywise once again, the friends must confront the trauma of their childhood and face their innermost fears. In 'The Shining' (1980), seeking solitude in order to write a novel, Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as an off-season caretaker at the remote Overlook Hotel in Colorado. Eager to get started, Jack disregards warnings that the isolation drove a former caretaker mad, and moves into the massive resort with his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd). But Danny has a supernatural gift which makes him aware of an evil lurking in the hotel, and sure enough, as winter storms cut the hotel off from civilisation, Jack gradually becomes murderously insane. In 'Misery' (1990), sick of his 19th-century romantic heroine, Misery Chastain, novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) kills her off and writes a more personal, modern novel. When his car crashes in remote mountains he is saved by an avid fan and former nurse Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), who adores Misery and has even named her pig after her. As she nurses him back to health at her remote dwelling, he realises she is not just going to let him go. In 'Doctor Sleep' (2019), still haunted by his childhood at the Overlook Hotel, another traumatic incident forces Danny (Ewan McGregor) to seek help for his demons in a small New Hampshire town. He secures work at a hospice, where he uses his shining abilities to aid the passing of his patients, and crosses paths with a young girl, Abra (Kyliegh Curran), who possesses a similar gift. She enlists Danny's help in stopping a murderous group known as the True Knot, led by Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson), which hunts down children who possess the shining and feed off of their powers, using them to fuel their own immortality. In 'The Green Mile' (1999), set in 1930s Louisiana, prison guard Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) meets convict John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), an experience which will change his life forever. Coffey is on death row convicted of the murder of two children - and he is afraid to sleep in his cell without a night light. Coffey also has a special gift, one which he uses to prove to the guards that he has been wrongfully convicted. In 'Carrie' (1976) Carrie (Sissy Spacek) is a gawky, unloved teenager whose awakening sexuality is at odds with her puritanical mother's fanatical teachings. Physically abused at home and shunned at school, an unexpected prom invitation seems to be Carrie's first chance at happiness. But when the prom night ends in a vicious practical joke, Carrie's despair manifests itself in a fiery telekinetic revenge. Finally, in 'The Shawshank Redemption' (1994) accountant Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sent to prison in the 1940s for the murder of his unfaithful wife and her lover despite maintaining his innocence. As he slowly comes to terms with the injustices of the corrupt prison system, he quietly inspires some of his fellow prison inmates to have a more positive outlook on life. Meanwhile, the governor of the prison discovers Dufresne's book-keeping talents and recruits him to do a spot of creative accountancy. Fellow inmate, ageing gangster 'Red' (Morgan Freeman), uses his connections to take care of Dufresne's material needs, and narrates the story of his friend's term in jail through to the late 1960s.

Typ: DVD / Box Set

In 'The Conjuring' (2013), when the Perron family experience strange goings-on at their farmhouse, they enlist the help of paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). As they investigate, however, the couple begin to realise that, despite their expertise, they may not be equipped to deal with such a violent and foreboding evil. In 'Annabelle' (2014) Mia and John Gordon (Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton) are terrorised by supernatural forces when John thinks he has found the perfect gift for his wife and unborn child, a rare vintage doll dressed in a white wedding dress named Annabelle. The family's joy however is abruptly ended when they are invaded and attacked in their home by members of a Satanic cult. The terror of that night is nothing compared to what follows as the cult conjure an entity which takes over Annabelle and transforms her into a malevolent force of evil. In 'The Conjuring 2' (2016) Ed and Lorraine are called in to investigate a series of unsettling events at a home in Enfield, London. The pair come to the aid of single mother Peggy Hodgson (Frances O'Connor), after she claims her two daughters are being tormented by an evil spirit. Not long after moving in to the house, the Warrens begin to experience some terrifying phenomena of their own, with the demonic entity seemingly intent on forcing them out. In 'Annabelle - Creation' (2017), after the death of their young daughter, doll maker Samuel Mullins (Anthony LaPaglia) and his wife Esther (Miranda Otto) invite a group of orphans and nun Sister Charlotte (Stephanie Sigman) to stay in their farmhouse after their own orphanage closes down. However, it soon transpires that the couple have welcomed the young girls to atone for inadvertently inviting a demon into their home, after mistaking it for the spirit of their daughter Annabelle. Now occupying one of Samuel's dolls the spirit proceeds to terrorise the girls as it tries to claim their souls. 'The Nun' (2018), set in 1952, follows Catholic priest Father Burke (Demián Bichir) and young nun Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) as they are dispatched by the Vatican to investigate the mysterious death of a nun at the Cârta Monastery in Romania. Upon arrival, they are met with a hostile reception as the malevolent entities occupying the monastery reveal themselves. As they work to uncover the secrets of the order, will they escape with their souls intact or will they be the next victims of the demonic nun? In 'Annabelle Comes Home' (2019) renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine think they have finally contained the cursed Annabelle doll when they bring it home, have it blessed by a priest and lock it in a case of sacred glass. However, when the couple depart for the night, leaving their ten-year-old daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace) alone with teenage babysitters Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) and Daniela (Katie Sarife), Annabelle continues to cause terror and acts as a beacon for the Warren's treasure trove of cursed artefacts, which, once awakened, set out to claim Judy's soul. Finally, in 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It' (2021), set in 1980s Connecticut, Ed and Lorraine Warren come to the aid of Arne Cheyenne Johnson (Ruairi O'Connor), a young man accused of murdering his landlord who claims to have been possessed by a demonic spirit. Believing the Johnson family was cursed by a witch, the Warrens are tested to their limits as they set out to prove their supernatural theory while attempting to convince the court of Arne's innocence.

Typ: DVD / Box Set
