Christopher Nolan directs this action adventure reboot which explores the origins of the Dark Knight. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice. After being trained as a member of the League of Shadows by Ducard (Liam Neeson) and Ra's al Ghul (Ken Watanabe), Bruce returns home to Gotham and unveils his vigilante alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high-tech gadgets to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.
