Richard Thorpe directs this American classic drama based on the novel by Sir Walter Scott. Saxon knight Ivanhoe (Robert Taylor) is fighting for the liberation of King Richard (Norman Wooland) from an Austrian prison and to restore his rightful place on the English throne. On his journey to secure King Richard's freedom, Ivanhoe will compete in deadly jousting tournaments, combat treachery and fight his way through an epic battle. The cast also includes Joan Fontaine, Elizabeth Taylor and Harold Warrender.
