Paul Dano, Lily James and James Norton star in this six-part BBC dramatisation of Tolstoy's epic novel. Set in 1805, the drama chronicles the changing fortunes of Russia's elite class during the country's war with the French Empire. The miniseries follows Pierre Bezukhov (Dano), the illegitimate son of a wealthy count, his friend Andrei Bolkonsky (Norton) who enlists in the army, and Natasha Rostov (James) as they search for love and meaning in their lives during the Napoleonic Wars.
