Fröna till de 11 spåren såddes när Fontaines D.C. turnerade med Arctic Monkeys i USA och fick chansen att dela musik med varandra, hitta gemensamma nämnare och hämta inspiration från dem: attityden och estetiken hos artister som Shygirl och Sega Bodega; de upproriska ljudlandskapen från Mos Def, A$AP Ferg, OutKast och The Prodigy.
