"The ability to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to go into a wide variety of different musical directions," Springsteen explained. Throughout the set, that sonic experimentation takes the form of film soundtrack work (for a movie that was never made) on Faithless, country combos with pedal steel on Somewhere North of Nashville, richly woven border tales on Inyo, orchestra-driven, mid-century noir on Twilight Hours and E Street favored rock on Perfect World.<br/> <br/>The Lost Albums are available in limited-edition nine-LP format, including original packaging for each previously unreleased record, with a 100-page cloth-bound, hardcover book featurimng rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen himself.

Originally released in 1972, the album is a collection of singles, album tracks and outtakes which charted across the world. It was conceived at the time primarily to update the Tull story for US and European audiences who might not have had the benefit of the many songs which had already reached UK fans' ears. <br/> <br/>I recall the recordings of many of these songs with surprising clarity and some I can still play from memory without a moment of hesitation. Quirky in some instances and covering a range of musical styles, it shows off my attempts to broaden my writing and arranging and develop beyond the more rocky and bluesy origins of the band. Swans return with Birthing, the latest album, developed over the course of a yearlong 2023-2024 tour. <br/>Birthing is released via Mute and Young God Records. The initial pressings of the deluxe vinyl and CD include a bonus DVD featuring Swans Live 2024 (Rope) The Beggar, a concert film by Marco Porsia documenting the band's most recent US tour. The DVD also includes I Wonder If I'm Singing What You're Thinking Me To Sing, a documentary by Christopher Nicholson following Michael Gira's 2022 solo tour.
