Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates) och Dolly (Agnes O'Casey) lyckas sällan ta sig bortom vardagssysslor och tidskrävande äkta män i en by på sextiotalets Irland. <br/><br/>Plötsligt får de chansen att resa till franska Lourdes, där alla besökare hoppas på personliga mirakel.
